A fantastic atmosphere filled Bishop Auckland RUFC yesterday afternoon as players, parents, coaches, and enthusiastic supporters gathered to celebrate another successful rugby season for the U11's team. The event was a fitting tribute to the hard work, dedication, and camaraderie that defined the year.

The club's pivotal role in the team's achievements was highlighted early on, with heartfelt thanks extended to Peter Gallone, Gareth John, the dedicated members of the rugby committee, and the wider club for their unwavering support and guidance throughout the season. Their commitment to providing the necessary resources and fostering a positive environment has been instrumental in the team's progress both on and off the field.

A particularly poignant moment saw the club community bid farewell to two cherished supporters, Dan and Donna Lewis, who are embarking on an exciting new venture. The incredible turnout for the afterparty was a clear demonstration of the high regard in which they are held, and the club wishes them all the very best in their new wine bar in Durham.

The Best Newcomer Award, for a player who embraced rugby with remarkable aptitude and determination in their debut season, was deservedly awarded to Harley Stoddart for their impressive aggression, combative style, and unwavering never-give-up attitude.
The Most Improved Player award went to Jack Dodds, acknowledged for his significant growth in skills, particularly ball handling, alongside his increased confidence and emerging leadership qualities throughout the season.

The Coaches' Player award, recognising the player who best embodied the team's values of skill, sportsmanship, and leadership, was presented to Harry Colman for his consistent positive attitude, exceptional skill, and influential presence within the team.

The prestigious Players' Player award, voted for by his teammates and recognising trust, work ethic, and overall contribution, was awarded to Owen Smith, a true testament to his character and collaborative spirit.
