Rearranged fixture

This was a rearranged fixture from December when unfortunately our hosts were flooded. Thankfully the weather and conditions were a vast improvement as our team travelled to Hartlepool this morning. The ground was hard which was very different from the mud baths we’ve been used to this season.

Our teams faced difficult opposition with some big ball carriers but it was pleasing to see determined tackling from our players often forcing the Hartlepool attack back. Our players used the touch line very effectively to create turnovers in a very good defensive effort.

In attack our opponents found it difficult to contain our very direct and skilful runners. Wave after wave of attacks put Hartlepool on the back foot and some outstanding team and individual tries were scored in an all round fantastic effort from all our players.

Players of the week.
Toby Sharp. Some great play from Toby who had a confident outing in the Scrum Half role. He read the game very well and consistently unleashed the Bishop attack with some great passes. Well done Toby.

James Dye. Some good direct running from James gave his team forward momentum in attack. Defensively he made some fantastic tackles in a very solid all round performance. Great work James.

Joseph Barron. Some great determination from Joseph as he made some fantastic runs forward with the ball. His tackling was also very impressive against some much bigger opponents. Well played Joseph.

We are rapidly approaching the end of the season. Our remaining training sessions are on Wednesday 24 April, Sunday 28 April and Wednesday 01 May. Hopefully as many players as possible can attend as we head into the Darlington Festival on the last day of the season 05 May.
