Our U12 boys travelled to Blaydon on Sunday and delivered an excellent team performance, coming away with 9 tries to Blaydon’s 5 in a game full of energy, skill, and teamwork.
Ewan, Harry, Lucas, Harley, Cameron, Charlie, Evan, James, Eli, Sam, Owen, Morgan
The tries were shared right across the team, showing just how much depth we have in this group. Morgan led from the front with 2 tries and some brilliant work to stretch Blaydon’s defence wide. On his debut, Lucas marked the occasion in style by crossing the line, while fellow debutant Evan threw himself straight into the action with committed play that impressed everyone.
In attack, Charlie was like a wrecking ball, smashing through defenders time and again while Owen showed real bravery at the breakdown, putting his body on the line for the team. Harry kept things organised and talking, making sure the boys stayed focused and connected. Out wide, Sam was electric with ball in hand, always looking dangerous.
Our big ball carriers, Ewan, Harley, and Eli, gave us the power to get over the gain line, setting the platform for the rest of the team to play. Cameron showed quick feet and vision, moving the ball into space with smart passing, while James put in a tireless shift, working hard in every area of the pitch and never taking a backward step.
Credit to Blaydon for 5 well-worked tries and playing the game in great spirit. Both sets of boys gave everything and should be proud of the way they played.
Couple of little work-ons for us as a group, scanning for space, avoiding the “honey pot” around the ball, and trusting teammates in the tackle. But that’s all part of the learning curve and shows how far they’re progressing every week.
